The “Little Mo” tournament has been a springboard for today’s top pros. Players such as Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Ana Ivanovic, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, and Serena Wiliams have all played “Little Mo”.

Blue Chip Tennis AcademyBlue Chip Tennis Academy - Dominion Valley Country Club Tennis Courts had the privilege of hosting the “Little Mo” Mid-Atlantic Sectional Tournament at Dominion Valley Country Club, located in picturesque Haymarket, Virginia. With its rolling foothills and gentle scenery, the Country Club was a perfect location to host the tournament. Mother Nature threatened to halt the tournament with chances of thunderstorms for both Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately, Saturday matches began under cloudy skies with breezy but comfortable conditions; all players were ready to compete and give it their all. After the first day, there were only a few surprising results but most of the top players advanced with ease.

Finals Day presented by Blue Chip Tennis Academy

After dodging the storms on Saturday, Sunday’s outlook did not look too promising as there were higher chances of storms in the afternoon. Because of the threat, all the matches were moved to the morning and early afternoon to get ahead of the storms. The players managed and played well under the sunny, hot, and humid conditions on Sunday. Just in the nick of time, the underdogs played hard but the top players were too tough and prevailed in all age divisions before the rains came. Congratulations to the players for winning their age division and an honorable mention to Kyle Berkson and Elicia Aponte for winning the Sportsmanship Trophy.  Players who finish in the top 8 in their respective age group will get an invitation to play the “Little Mo” East Regionals in Naples, Florida.
