Blue Chip Worldgate Takes Over USTA Junior Team Tennis at Regional Tournament
It was a swarm of super talented junior tennis players at the recent USTA Junior Team Tennis Regional Tournament! And Blue Chip Worldgate was representing well with FOUR teams taking on the competition!
USTA Junior Team Tennis at Blue Chip
Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA was taken over by junior tennis players July 7 – 9. The JTT Virginia Regional Championship showcased some pretty talented teams, including those of our own Blue Chip Tennis from our Worldgate location.
The Blue Chip Racqueteers competed in the 18U category, Blue Chip Aces in 14U, & both the Blue Chip Stars & Blue Chip South competed in 10U.
What’s cool about these teams is that most of them have been together for years. They started together, trained together, have grown together and play together. Their camaraderie and team spirit are a true testament to what USTA junior team tennis is all about – tennis (of course), competition and friendship. They plan on continuing the tradition, staying together and playing together for many future seasons.
Hats off to Junior Team Tennis coordinator Carol Molesky, who worked just as hard as the kids! She led and coached ALL the teams all weekend. Blue Chip Tennis really brings together the best of the best with a true passion for the game!
“Really proud of the teams and enjoyed being with them this weekend. Thanks for all their efforts, support and team spirit. Looking forward to the Fall Season!”
-Carol Molesky, Junior Tennis Team Coordinator
Taking to Tennis
The USTA Junior Team Tennis (or JTT) is for junior tennis players ages 6 to 18. It’s built as a program introducing kids to the wide world of tennis long before more traditional team and training formats, such as in high school. Athletes play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other coed teams. In addition to learning tennis skills and nuances, the players pick up social growth, sportsmanship and life skills like team work and unity.
Parent involvement is encouraged in JTT. If there isn’t a team nearby, parents can even start one. But luckily there are plenty of USTA Mid Atlantic teams run by Blue Chip Tennis! If your junior athlete is looking to try tennis for the first time or hone his or her superior severing skills, Blue Chip Tennis Academy can help. In addition to JTT teams, we offer workshops, clinics and camps. Get your player in the game!Tags: Blue Chip Tennis Academy, junior team tennis, Mid-Atlantic, tennis programs, USTA
