BRSC Junior Player Takes First In Tennis Tournament

Blue Chip Tennis Academy junior player, Jonathan Ngo, has been incorporating the strategies he’s learned in practices to take over his opponents in his tennis tournaments. Earlier this month, Jonathan played in the Blue Chip Junior Open L7 Tennis Tournament and took first place!

Jonathan faced off against the #1 seed for his first round match. He found himself rallying against a strong opponent but remembered what he was taught in his clinics. He focused on shot placement to take over the match and come out with a win.

“Jonathan and I were really appreciative of the support of his coaches, particularly DJ who came out in the beginning of the tournament to cheer him on.   I think having a coach who goes out of his way to come to your tournament is just so awesome for the player.  I know it definitely boosted Jonathan’s confidence level. Thank you so much, DJ!”

Jonathan first started off in our Performance 2 program (now Competitive Performance) and was placed in our High Performance program last year. The coaches at BCTA love seeing our players utilize the strategies that they have learned in the clinics and transferring them over to matchplay in tennis tournaments.

BCTA coach, Jeremy Carl, says he “was very proud to hear of Jonathan’s recent tennis tournament success.  He is one of the most hard working High Performance students we have and it’s truly a pleasure to have him representing Blue Chip Tennis Program.  It was wonderful to know that he applied the competitive strategy principles and tactics we have been training during our High Performance classes.  We wish him continued success.”
