Mount Vernon Tennis & Burke Coaches Will Be Representing in Portland!
Blue Chip Tennis pros Jeremy Carl and Tim Bainton are once again sharpening the elite skills that embody the Mount Vernon tennis programs and how through Blue Chip, Burke tennis has grown as well. Jeremy Carl started working for Blue Chip at MTVAC but is now the Head Pro at Burke Racquet and Swim Club. There, he is helping bring outstanding instruction to Burke families. They’ve both been selected to participate in a highly selective and prestigious USTA High Performance Continuing Education Program this summer! The program, taking place July 15-17, 2016, will run in conjunction with the Davis Cup Quarterfinal, when the United States will play Croatia.
Mount Vernon Tennis: The Next Generation
Only 16 coaches were chosen to participate in the program, and with two of our own on that short list, we’re feeling pretty proud! The USTA High Performance Coaching Program focuses on the personal and professional growth of coaches. It also provides the opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of tennis coaching techniques and networking with and learning from top tennis coaches around the country. It all points to one goal: taking the top tennis youth and developing them into the next generation of American players.
In Portland, Tim and Jeremy will take part in lectures, meetings, match analysis and discussions. The specific goal of this summer’s program is to create an experience that addresses current trends in technique, tactics and training. Our Mount Vernon tennis and Burke coaches will have the chance to interact with and learn from USTA Coaching Education Department staff, sport science experts and top national coaches.
Paving the Way
Of course this top honor and opportunity would be enough for many coaches, but not for our pros! In the true spirit of keeping tennis strong and developing both youth tennis and terrific tennis coaches, Jeremy and Tim are sharing their knowledge and experience. They have an article being published in July’s issue of Advantage Magazine on “creating opportunity in the tennis profession.” It seems these two would certainly know something about that!
