MTVAC Management Team
Dimitris Kollaros, B.S. in Kinesiology, Personal Trainer, General Manager
Dimitris Kollaros is responsible for the overall operations of the club, setting policies that benefit both the ongoing success of the club as well as its members and creating and maintaining budgets. Dimitris focuses on helping everyone develop their talents so that they may recognize and reach their full potential both as a trainer and as the General Manager of a growing staff.
Dimitris went to New Mexico State University where he played rugby and earned his bachelor degrees in Kinesiology and Sociology. He owned and operated his own training and performance company in New Mexico for over 12 years.
Gretchen Thompson: Assistant G.M., Master Trainer, ACE
Gretchen has been with MTVAC for 30+ years and has progressively expanded her role at the club. Starting as a fitness instructor, she has taken on additional responsibilities in management and in 2015 was promoted to Assistant General Manger.
Her responsibilities encompass several departments including group exercise, childcare, payroll, and she is oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the entire 50,000 square foot facility and grounds. Gretchen is often described as ‘the glue’ that keeps MTVAC running smoothly and her friendships with many of our long-term members is testament to her dedication to the club.
Tim Bainton: Director of Tennis at Mount Vernon Athletic Club, Founder Blue Chip Sports Management
Under Tim’s directorship Mount Vernon Athletic Club has been awarded the USTA 2011 Mid-Atlantic Facility of the Year and USTA Virginia 2012 Club of the Year. He oversees all areas of Blue Chip Tennis Academy’s teaching and programming; assuming the role of Executive Director.
Tim is also a part of the Wilson National Team and serves on their National Speakers Bureau along with legends such as Chris Evert, Todd Martin and Tom Gullikson. Widely regarded as a pioneer in the industry, Tim is recognized for his achievements in building and sustaining the success of tennis clubs.
Brandon Coleman: Member Relations and Intake Manager
Brandon works closely with MTVAC members – his bright smile is often the first thing that guests and new members encounter. From touring prospective members to helping members with questions, to providing tennis hitting sessions, Brandon is here to help. member, Brandon loves to laugh and joke with staff and members
Responsible for tennis renewals, signing up new members and helping keep the court bookings organized, Brandon wants to make members happy by making them feel like MTVAC is their home away from home!
Mona Sudama, Bookkeeper
Responsible for maintaining the financial records and day to day financial transactions for Mount Vernon Athletic Club, Mona also assists the GM with reporting.
Mona assists members with general membership questions and works closely with members to ensure their accounts and billing are properly updated.
Kathleen O’Brien, Director of Digital Marketing
Taking the lead in developing a successful, long-term digital marketing strategy for MTVAC, Kathleen integrates SEM and SEO tactics while providing forward-thinking ideas to build and maintain a strong web presence. Kathleen oversees all the social media channels, digital and print advertising and creates campaigns to educate and inform prospects, members and the community.
Responsible for communications both for and about the club, Kathleen often assists members, local trade partners and the chamber of commerce with cross promoting charitable and community activities to help enhance the Alexandria and Mount Vernon communities.
Jasmine Martinez, Front Desk Supervisor
Responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the front desk and its staff, Jasmine loves to help MTVAC members with booking massages, personal training and tennis lessons. Jasmine keeps both members and staff alike informed and she can often be found answering questions and the phones from behind the front desk, the central communication hub for the club.
